Charlotte Multi-Family Development Receives Two National Awards
Capstone Building Corp. earned two nationally acclaimed Aurora Awards for their 1100 South Boulevard multi-family project in Charlotte, North Carolina, during the prestigious 35th Annual Aurora Award competition presented by the Southeast Building Conference (SEBC). The development received an Aurora for Best Multi- Family Housing Community Over 60 Density Units Per Acre and won Best in State for North Carolina.
The Aurora Awards annually honor architectural design, interior design, and planning excellence throughout the Southeastern United States and Eastern Caribbean. A panel of six building industry leaders select winners who demonstrate innovation, creativity, attention to detail, and overall distinction. This year’s competition drew 335 entries in 57 categories, including commercial, office space, renovation, mixed-use, affordable, multi-family, site planning, single family and custom home.

Capstone Building Corp. was honored as builder on 1100 South, along with Cambridge Development Partners as the developer and Humphreys & Partners Architect as the architects on the project.
1100 South is a sleek, urban residence in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. Completed in March of 2015, 1100 South totals 346,595 square feet and features 331 open design studio, one- and two bedroom units with sweeping views of the cityscape. The residence boasts a rooftop garden and cocktail terrace, four community courtyards with zen gardens, a saline pool, and bocce ball court, and a state-of-the-art fitness and pilates center.
