White-Spunner Realty Expands Commercial Sales Team
White-Spunner Realty welcomed former Alabama State Representative Jamie Ison to its expanding commercial sales staff.
“We are enthusiastic about the addition of Jamie to our team,” said Matt White, president of White-Spunner Realty. “She comes to us from the great leadership of the LLB&B Residential company led by Julie Minto and Melissa Morrissette. Jamie also brings tremendous energy and many contacts from across the state to our Commercial Brokerage Platform.”
Ison served from 2002 until 2014 as a state representative for Alabama District 101. She did not seek a fourth term, instead choosing to focus on her real estate career and volunteer pursuits.
The former Director for the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind’s Mobile Regional Center, Ison said she is looking forward to bringing more business opportunities to the Gulf Coast through commercial real estate.
“I love meeting new people and sharing the story of Mobile,” said Ison, who has worked in real estate since 2009. “It’s great to re-engage with people I’ve met through the years and during my time in the legislature.”
Appointed to the Mobile Airport Authority in 2018, Ison is a longtime member of several civic and professional organizations, including the Rotary Club of Mobile, Sunrise, the Mobile Judicial Commission and the Mobile and Alabama Associations of Realtors where she serves as the Federal Political Coordinator for Congressman Bradley Byrne.
Known for her adventurous spirit, in 2005 she summited Mount Kilimanjaro as part of a team with American athlete Erik Weihenmayer. He was the first blind person to reach the summit of Mount Everest in 2001.
“We still keep in touch,” she said of Weihenmayer. “He’s such an inspiration to me.”
Ison and her husband, Jay Ison, have two adult sons, Philip and Wyatt. The couple attends St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Mobile. She enjoys traveling and has a passion for wildlife photography.
