Department of Labor Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustments Act Annual Adjustments for 2019

From Smith Currie

On January 15, 2019, the Department of Labor released the pre-publication ( January 15, 2019 unofficial) version of the “Department of Labor Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustments Act Annual Adjustments for 2019” which increases the Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA)’s maximum penalties. This unofficial version of the Act is subject to review and revision by the Office of the Federal Register (Federal Register). To the extent that there are discrepancies between the January 15, 2019 unofficial version and the final version published by the Federal Register, the official version will control.

Below are the 2019 adjusted maximum penalty amounts that will take effect upon publication by the Office of the Federal Register:

The January 15, 2019 unofficial version of the act can be found in its entirety at: https://www.dol.gov/asp/2019-inflation-adjustments.pdf
