ABC’s Construction Backlog Indicator & Decatur

ABC produces the Construction Backlog Indicator, the only economic indicator that reflects the amount of work that will be performed by commercial and industrial construction contractors in the months ahead, and the Construction Confidence Index, a diffusion index that signals construction contractors’ expectations for sales, profit margins and staffing levels.

CBI is a forward-looking economic indicator that is highly valued by ABC members, industry stakeholders and the news media. It measures the amount of work that is under contract but has yet to be performed, and is the only reliable leading indicator offering this level of specificity on the U.S. commercial and institutional, industrial and infrastructure construction segments.

This month’s survey is now available featuring questions about your backlog for May 2019. This survey is not anonymous, but your individual responses will be held in the strictest confidence.

Are you seeing a big increase or decrease in project volume? Especially if you are a contractor in Decatur, please let us know! Please take three minutes to complete ABC’s Construction Backlog Indicator survey and help members like you understand the market and plan for the future. To participate, click here.
