 On Sept. 27, the DOL issued a final rule on overtime, “Defining and Delimiting the Exemptions for Executive, Administrative, Professional, Outside Sales and Computer Employees,” which updates and revises the “white-collar” overtime exemption regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The final rule goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2020.

During this webinar, Maury Baskin and Tammy McCutchen will discuss the key provisions of the final overtime rule and how employers can prepare now to comply with the Jan. 1, 2020, effective date.

Providing self-funded health benefits to an hourly and geographically dispersed workforce requires a unique approach that integrates enrollment, ongoing eligibility management, premium collection and compliance. Self-funding has many positives, such as reducing costs and increasing plan flexibility, but it is not a solution for all contractors. If you have more than 25 employees and expect to offer benefits moving forward. consider buying your health insurance vs. renting it. While not appropriate for all employers, level-funded plans may be of help in reducing costs, especially from lower taxes and insurance company profits, flexible reporting and building a claims reserve that can be used to enhance future benefits and lower premiums.
